Shirley Boys' High School boasts some modern sports facilities. The new campus was completed in April 2019 and officially opened on 29 April, when it welcomed its first students and staff to its new location at the QEII Park Ōruapaeroa in Christchurch. The campus is co-located with Avonside Girls' High School, creating a shared educational precinct while maintaining the identity of each school. The schools share gym and turf space, and also utilise Ascot Green -either side of the school of gymnastics- for rugby and football.
